Coffee in the pre-Christmas build up

The smell of sweet spices rises from my mug: ginger, cinnamon, allspice and cloves. A true gingerbread smell captured in a hot cup of coffee! That honey and molasses odour conjures up warm and cozy holiday feelings. My first sip of Brooklyn Bean Roastery Gingerbread Man brown sugar ginger coffee is no let down. Those festive spices create a memorable cup of coffee.

If we were having coffee, I would refrain from any direct conversation about the novel I just finished writing. It is at the front of my thoughts but since it has been the focus of my posts this year, I will just save any updates for my last 2 posts of 2021. Can you believe 2021 is almost done? What a year it has been…

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I updated my Home Page this week in preparation for the new year of writing. Some of you might recall that I decided that 2022 will be a year of coffees. Should be a great year for coffee, writing, family and friends.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I am enjoying using my Goodreads account to log books and do reviews. Writing reviews is actually a lot of fun and reading other people’s reviews in interesting. I don’t have a lot of Goodreads friends but I am hopeful that as I become a more active part of that community I will gain some connections. If any of you are on Goodreads please look me up so we can connect.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that all my Christmas shopping is done and wrapped. I love the wrapping part with all the pretty paper, bows and ribbons. I usually put a couple nicely wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree as soon as it goes up. Do you put presents under the tree before Christmas? Another question that I like asking around Christmas is about people’s stocking traditions. If you participate in Christmas stocking are the items in the stocking wrapped?

If we were having coffee, I would pass you a cherry flavoured candy cane and the coffee pot before I ask, what is your coffee news?

  1. Merry Christmas!! I can’t believe Christmas is Saturday. And I’m not done shopping as I really want to get some gifts for my hubby. He says he doesn’t need anything and in our family we use Elfster and pick names. So it’s not like he won’t have any gifts to open, but I know he bought me a few things. He says he didn’t spend more than $20 dollars, still, I’ll be heading to the store one of the days this week. When my kids were little I would buy little gifts to wrap up and put in their stockings but I don’t do stocking gifts any more. Lol 😆 I can barely do the secret Santa Elfster and a couple extra gifts for my best friend and my hubby!!! Crazy days, and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year too!!! ❤️☃️🎄💚

  2. Hi Shari,
I think (maybe at least hope) that I’m just as crippled in this area as other guys. Somehow the glories of wrapping are all so short lived as to be hardly worth the frustration of doing it, but I do, but fight the attitude to take the easiest path to completion that I can find.

I am tempted to ask if your husband leans to your love of gift wrapping or, um, not?

    1. Haha, lots of people feel that same way about the wrapping. I love the ribbons and bows though even if it is a short lived experience. As for my husband, he loves it when I wrap. It isn’t his favourite activity and he falls into the same category of hurrying through the wrapping with usually little or no ribbons and bows. Haha. Its about the effort though.

Merry Christmas Gary to you and your family.
