Blueberry imagination & Coffee

It has a bitter taste under laid with hints of blueberry. However, it is a smooth finish and the blueberry notes linger long after the bitterness has faded. I could total sip this coffee while nibbling a warm piece of blueberry pie and it actual helps me visualize a flakey golden crust stuffed to overflowing with a midnight blue blueberry filling.

If we were having coffee I would share with you that I ordered a flavoured coffee sampler pack. Earlier in the week I had a peanut butter cup flavoured coffee. Nothing special to report about it but I think that there will be some great coffee flavours that I will use a writing inspirations.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I started physio for my hip this week and that included dry needling. Seriously what is up with needles? I actually didn’t do it the first day because I need to digest the fact that it is called dry needling. Second appointment I gave it a try and the muscle really cramped up but “dry needling” isn’t a title that does the process justice. I think going forward I plan to call it muscle pinning.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I updated my homepage the tiniest bit this week as well. I added a post a week widget to the sidebar and I really like how it looks.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that back to school is in a few days. My boys are so excited. I am a bit nervous about it but I think they understand the importance of masks and clean hands…. I took the first day of school off so I could use it as a “me day”. I haven’t had one of those in a long time. I do have a “muscle pinning” appointment but other than that I am hoping to do some writing and coffee drink.

How was your week? Anything interesting on the horizon?

  1. I have never heard of dry needling. If it helps..
It is great that you can take a day off when the boys start school. I am sure you need it, any momma does, right? I am constantly worried about my daughter when I am not with her, but I try to focus on the present as to not sink into the worries too much. Thank you for the coffee, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  2. Hi Shari.

As I try to picture ‘dry needling’, should I start with what I know about acupuncture (which makes little sense to me, but. . .) ?
Please tell us more about it and if it comes around and helps.
Sciatic pain is often about pinched nerves and anything that un-pinches them can help, so surgery to remove mineral buildups or meds to relieve inflammation or exercise to tone flabby intrusive muscles all make sense to me as to why they work. Poking at my body parts with needles . . . someone should clue me in as to how this could help.

I hope I’m wrong and needling your hip both helps you and educates me.

    1. So, my understanding is that with acupuncture the needles are left in the skin and they are only skin deep. With dry needling the needle is not left in and it punches down into the muscle to active a muscle reaction and all the chemistry that comes with an active muscle which is suppose to help by increasing circulation and all sorts of stuff like that. Suppose to help it heal and relax is my basic understanding. We shall see….

  3. I love the new look of the blog. I think we both have the same theme, Button?, I just love the simplicity of it. I’ve never had muscle needling but I’ve had a facial procedure with a roller of needles to help with collagen production especially for scars. I don’t think I went back for another session. I hope your physiotherapy works well for you. Thanks for coffee.

    1. I like it to, it is fresh and light.

A roller of needles sounds very unpleasant and I can’t blame you for not going back! I have my second dry needling this week. She told me that it will take a few sessions to notice an effect. Anyway, thanks for stopping in. Hope you have a nice week.
