Do you smell that? It is a sugary smell with vanilla notes and the distinct odour of melting chocolate. Yum, yum, yum! Would you rather the smell of cookies baking or coffee brewing?
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I have been very selective lately with the sugary thing I am consuming. It really is true that sugar is an addiction and purging it out of my system has been most challenging. But once the cravings start to subside it gets easier to narrow down on what sugary thing I might treat myself to once in a while. And who can resist homemade chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven with either a nice hot coffee or an icy glass of milk?
If we were having coffee I would ask you if you ever watch the house shows on HGTV, or whatever your house network is? I am thinking particularly of House Hunters International because I have had this idea in my head about naming our next house when we buy it and on House Hunters International the houses always have fun names: la casa roja or casa paraíso and that sort of thing. I love it. So, I am thinking the next house will have a fun name and maybe I will even get a sign.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I have started to read The Wish Song from The Shannara series. I really did enjoy reading The Elfstones of Shannara. I think I am going to enjoy this read too. As for the puzzle, I started it last weekend but haven’t had a lot of time for it. My husband was making fun of me and he said, “you haven’t done a puzzle in years and you went and got yourself the hardest one!” While he might be right, it is a bit complicated but it is fun.
If we were having coffee I would ask you how your week was?

In addition to my normal coffee, I splurged and had a muffin. It was disappointing, and far too sweet. Yes when you get the sugar craving out of your system, you begin to wonder how you ever ate that stuff. Hope you have a great weekend.

Agreed, but it is strange how that works.

Thank you for the coffee and the homemade cookies! Love the smell of both. And I totally understand that craving of sugary foods. I should cut back and try and resist the temptations. I love putting together puzzles, but with kitties in the house, not so fun as they push all the pieces onto the floor! Lol – have a GREAT weekend! 😃 ~Diana

Well,, I would have never thought of kittens as a puzzle inhibitor but now that you say it I am smiling at the thought. Too funny

Fresh brewing coffee is always great, but Shari – fresh chocolate chip cookies are down-right therapeutic. Sorry, but it’s no contest – the cookies win every time especially for precise age group of 5 years to 105 years.

When you limit the amount of sugar you eat one sure can enjoy them more. Those cookies were fabulous! Thank you !

Hello Shari, I’m visiting from the Weekend Coffee Share link-up. I’m in Ontario. Great to know another Canadian blogger. I wouldn’t be able to resist fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, either with hot coffee or cold milk. Thank you.

Hi Shari,
I myself prefer Latte’s but usually deal with at coffee at home as best as I can make,
as its cheaper.
