Coffee Post

The coffee is bitter and warm. I sip slowly having chosen a table near the balcony. I have a clear view of the silky blue sky and the cotton ball clouds that are lazily drifting across that blue expanse. The sun is dazzling and I am instantly thankful for everything this morning has offered. There are small geckos and large lizards within eye sight and I enjoy watching them basking in the sun. The hum of conversation sets a lively background noise as families move through their morning routines. I sit back in my chair stretching my legs out in front of me and crossing them at the ankles. I am completely relaxed.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that skating for the boys ended this week. So, I will have 2 nights a week back where we aren’t running around like chickens without heads. I am happy about that because 5 nights a week has been a bit too much.

If we were having coffee I would have to cut it short today but not before I wished you happy holidays!

  1. Priceless are the moments we get to invest in making great memories with our kids. Even better (for us now – in the future for you) are their words of appreciation for the memories and having had a safe and full childhood. I have never regretted making time for any of their events.

You words above add some great mental flavor to my morning tea, recalling stuff we did with them. Comfort both inside and out.

    Blessings.

  2. Hi Shari. I just noted you pinging through stuff and wanted to ask if you had time to read a new story I posted two days ago. You did a piece a while back about your experience with childbirth and I thought it was fascination to see it through the mom/s eyes. Your essay was part of the reason I decided to capture something similar from the dad’s side. If interested, you can find it here: https://garyawilsonstories.wordpress.com/welcoming-our-first-born/
Regardless – I hope to read more from you this year and so appreciate your kind words and friendship from 2019.
