Moonlight
Whatever part of the bookstore we were in now had an open ceiling. The sky above us was magnificent, but I was shocked to see the moon. We had slipped quietly into night. We knew without speaking that the Croco would nestle in somewhere and sleep now because it doesn’t like the coolness of the night air even in the summer months. We settled back against a bookshelf with our heads tilted up at the sky. It was quiet for a long time before Glitter began to talk. “Let’s call this a bedtime story shall we? Cord lost everything and…”

I’m a little confused. I know that you are doing this in 100 word snippets so you’re limited in what you can share in each post (and you are doing amazing). But why isn’t the main character freaking out at least a little bit? To my knowledge, they have never been in this bookstore before, so why are they treating this as normal? Still, amazing story, thanks for sharing!

Fair question Kat, and yes part of it is the snippet aspect of how I am writing this. Also I think that “normal” varies by degrees. That said, I wanted to develop the bookstore more than the character I guess. However, when we first met this character in letter “A” the bookstore beckoned to him/her because it stood out from the normal. After immediately entering the bookstore the strangeness begins and this character seems to embrace it right from the start, never turning back or trying to flee from the adventure set in front of him/her. I was hoping that this would set the character up as adventurous, curious, and not one to run from a challenge. Perhaps though I should have dedicated a direct post to this instead of just trying to imply it.
Great question, hope you keep reading!

No worries, I had just commented to my husband that I had forgot how labour intensive the A to Z can be. Thank you for fitting me into your A to Z schedule!
