Difficult to Find One’s Way
My legs were getting heavier with each stride as if I was dragging them up steep steps. In reality I was walking on a threadbare carpet caught between two rows of bookshelves. The rows didn’t end, looking forward and backward produced the same narrowing isle that disappeared into the distance. Moving forward seemed a logical choice as I searched for a break in the shelves, a passage that detoured from this isle. Feet dragging I stumbled expecting to ram into the shelf but instead I slipped through an imperceptible break in the shelving; I was in an empty work area.

There’s a sense of claustrophobia in this piece and that adds a lot to the proceedings. Nicely done, Sharri.
